About Me
EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
One of the most effective ways I assist all students is by developing and presenting comprehensible and stimulating lesson plans that facilitate all learning styles. I research, incorporate and locate a variety of resources to accommodate students via visual, audio, tactile and kinesthetic methods.
I of course integrate this with modern technology that has much to offer in terms of opportunities to deepen students? knowledge. My goal is to foster and maintain an open, honest, communicative and supportive classroom, in which each student feels safe, secure, special, and appropriately challenged.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I have a Bachelor of Music Education degree, a Bachelor of Education degree, a Certificate for Teaching and Training Adults, a Management Studies degree as well as a TESOL certification.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I am a highly compassionate and approachable teaching professional, with over 16 years of teaching experience.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I am highly involved in the dog rescue community and assist with fostering dogs and retraining them. I have played in a number of community bands, and have been a member of the board of directors. I successfully led the Kitchener Musical Society Band to obtain an Ontario Trillium Grant.
