As a special education teacher, I truly feel that all children are capable of learning. Taking the time to help a student figure out how they best learn not only helps them while they are in school, but teaches them the skills they will need in order to be successful in their work environment and in life as well.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Fresno State in 2006. I completed both my master’s degree and teaching credential at University of Phoenix in 2008. In 2013, I earned my Autism Authorization Certification through Alliant University and during that same year completed my Administrative Services Credential and second master’s degree in Educational Leadership.
I have taught at the high school level for 7 years. In that time I have taught study skills, reading intervention, math support, Earth Science, health and various levels of English. I have also co-taught both English and Science.
For 5 years I coached sports at the high school level. I was the JV Women’s basketball coach for one year and Varsity & JV Women’s Water Polo Coach for 4 years. During my tenure as the water polo coach I was able to take my team to NCS for the first time in school history and also earned BVAL Coach of the Year honors.
