Chalk Talk: Tips for Avoiding Senioritis

Senioritis—its reputation precedes it. The last academic stretch of a 13-year career can be agonizing. Of course, being top dog in the school has its perks, and social aspects of school may make it all worthwhile, but Senioritis still finds its victims. It’s important to check your Senioritis. Costly mistakes regarding college applications or important tests can make you regret your angst. There are many ways to make sure that jitters, anxieties, and laziness don’t get in the way of tying your academic career up with a pretty bow. First, follow through on your college applications. It may be necessary to ensure institutions received your application(s). Make sure to thank all the people who helped you along the way. Sending thank-you cards to teachers, coaches, and counselors helps build character and lets people know you appreciate them.
