Chalk Talk: What Is STEM Learning?

Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) are often emphasized together in many schools and when preparing for careers. The experimental method is common to the physical, biological, and social sciences, and guides inquiry. Technology, especially computer technology, drives the practical applications of science to business and industry, as does engineering. Mathematics is the language of measurement. When these subjects are integrated, students are better able to understand both the practical and conceptual applications of each.
