Blaine District and Curriculum
The Blaine Public Schools stress STEM enrichment classes through specialized sequences including a new biomedical program. A two-year International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is also available for those academically gifted high school students with an eye toward college. Courses such as Astronomy, Meteorology and Environmental Science prepare students for future careers and interests. The Secondary Technical Educational Program also provides coursework and training in varying career fields, capping off a well-rounded curriculum for all students.

In addition to a focus on literacy and mathematics among elementary school students, Blaine Public Schools feel talent development is key to well rounded instruction. Students on all levels are encouraged to question personally held assumptions as well as learn through experience such as in internship opportunities. Critical thinking skills are taught at levels, beginning with opportunities to be personally reflective and graduating towards more abstract analysis and interpretation skills.
The integration of hybrid and online learning is an important component to the Blaine Public Schools. Online learning is available in grades 9 and 10 for both core and elective classes while other grades utilize the course management system Moodle in addition to face-to-face instruction. Students can also take specialized Information Technology, Marketing and Business Entrepreneurship classes at the high school.
