Chalk Talk: The Benefits of Online Learning in High School

Many schools are now starting to offer online or bridge programs that allow high school students to take some or all of their required course material in an online classroom setting. This is completely different from ten to twenty years ago when students were required to show up in class each day. But what are the benefits associated with this type of learning? With online courses, students are not only able to learn on their own time in accordance with their own schedule, they are often able to fit in courses that they might not otherwise be able to take due to schedule conflicts. Students are also able to utilize different learning styles that work best for them and, for those who find it difficult to learn in a traditional classroom setting, this can make a huge difference in their learning. With these and other benefits, it is easy to see why this is becoming a popular trend.
