The curriculum provides a Third Grade Guarantee so that students are proficient and competent readers by the time they reach the third grade before progressing into more complex areas of Language Arts. A new Math in Focus program for Kindergarten to Grade 5 students will be introduced to students to help them enhance their problem solving and critical thinking and analytic skills using highly creative materials and resources. Math in high school focuses on more complex subjects like Algebra, Geometry, and Statistics. Students are expected to acquire more advanced abstract thinking skills in math to be able to solve problems using theories and multiple methodologies.

- Zumba Anyone? - A new dance program for students in the Voyager afterschool program integrates dance steps and teaches children how to zumba every Friday. Zumba is a fun exercise that incorporates physical moves with Latin dance for an intensive fun, cardio workout that helps children get into shape while staying fit and active.

There are advantages and disadvantages to both. However, students enjoy being challenged with more advanced material from time to time and they rather see a teacher that thrives on creativity and one who inspires his or her students to be creative themselves. One solution is to design a personalized toolkit or learning kit for students of all ages of custom made resources from flash cards to crosswords and mini-quizzes so that learning can be made fun and enjoyable. This unique toolkit does not need to take a long time but it does need to consider the age-appropriate level and type of skills that the child is trying to learn.
