As a person who loves learning new concepts and is open to new ideas, I am a strong believer in education. I believe, with the right attention given and some creativity, anyone is capable of learning. I also believe in rewarding accomplishments when it comes to education. There are times when we may feel intimidated by a specific topic but once we really dive in, and succeed, we should reward ourselves with a celebratory moment to say “I knew that I can do it”. This will also push us to go further and accomplish more in life.
I believe that the mastery of basic reading, writing and mathematical skills is essential to the pursuit of academic studies, occupational training, and personal intellectual enrichment.
I am dedicated in my work with young people to support them in their learning. Humor, honesty, and care guide each of my tutoring sessions. I believe that school can be fulfilling and meaningful. I have seen in my tutoring relationships how extra support for school work can profoundly impact academic, social, and family life.

Chalk Talk: The Importance of Parental Involvement at School

For many years, educators have been encouraging parents to get involved, to visit the classroom, to volunteer at their child's school. According to recent educational research, schools are beginning to see the benefits of parental involvement in their children's school. When parents are involved in their children's education and school community, the children are presenting with higher test grades, higher classroom grades, behaving better at home and at school and showing overall better social skills.

This is encouraging news for parents and children. Parents can be involved with their children's education in little ways such as by providing a learning environment at home, celebrating the child's academic achievement and communicate frequently with his or her teacher. Bigger ways would be to volunteer at school, participate in activities and events at the school or within the school community. Volunteer to help with a fundraiser or better yet, run an event. When your child sees you giving your time to their school, they know not only that their school is important but that they are important too.
