Cupertino District and Curriculum

The schools in Cupertino use curriculum that details the major areas of learning and the essential knowledge that students need in order to gain proficiency in their subjects.

We currently cover the following Cupertino-area school district: Cupertino Union School District, Fremont Union High School District.

Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Cupertino District Curriculum

In Language Arts, students are instructed in reading literary and non-fiction texts, the writing process, and listening and speaking. In Math, the topics covered are numerical operations, algebraic operations, geometry and measurement, and data analysis. In the Sciences, the curriculum lays out the areas of earth science, biology, chemistry, physics, environmental science, technology and engineering.

The standards and objectives set forth are a series of learning outcomes which instruction and assessment is aligned to. This framework deepens the subject-area learning each year while promoting critical thinking skills. By building each year on prior year’s knowledge, the ability to think back upon what is known to help understand present topics offers the basis for advanced thinking to develop.
