Chalk Talk: What Students Learn in Today's Technology Classes

Technology education is one of the fastest growing, and changing, subjects in schools today. It can encompass everything from beginner's classes in using a computer and navigating its main functions to high school pre-engineering or specialized, high skills courses. Students are introduced to topics such as coding and programming, and learn how to build websites and innovate with technology. Technology courses are also prime ways to integrate the subject with other core academic subjects such as math, science, and reading and writing. Students become more compelled to learn, understand and retain information in these subjects when they are in the process of using them. Students may use all of these subjects in their technology pursuits, or may find themselves using graphic arts programs and, in turn, support their knowledge in the arts.
