Chalk Talk: The Importance of Parental Involvement

Research shows that students whose parents are involved in their educations are far more likely to be successful. Involved parents help their children to adapt better to change, complete homework on time, have higher self-esteem and earn higher grades than students whose parents are uninvolved. Even just discussing the day, asking generative questions and showing interest is a big part of parental involvement. When parents are involved, students also have vastly improved behavior and attendance. While it’s important for teachers to be well prepared, knowledgeable and dedicated, it is even more important for parents to be engaged in their childs' learning.
