In English and Language Arts, students learn to read, write, listen and speak using correct English. This focus on reading and writing is also implemented in other core coursework including Social Studies, History, Science and Technology courses. Students are introduced to a variety of types of reading material including literature and informational text. An emphasis is placed on developing skills such as critical analysis and looking for evidence and reason, skills that will be useful in college and in career pursuits.

In Mathematics, the focus is on learning a select number of subjects including computational skills, measurement, algebra, geometry, probability and statistics.
