Chalk Talk: How To Be Organized In School

Being organized in school can help students get and stay on the path to success. First, you’ll want to get basic supplies that you know you’ll need, like pens, pencils, folders, and paper. You may also want a pencil case or pouch to hold these pens and pencils, along with calculators or other items you know you’ll be using frequently. Also, try to get binders or notebooks with pockets in them to store papers. You’ll want to clean these out at least once a month, although once a week is better. Keeping your locker clean and organized can be helpful as well. Plan to clean it around the same time as your folders. Having a planner where you can write down all of your assignments will definitely help a student stay organized. Many schools give these to students for free at the beginning of the year. Finally, when taking notes or writing papers, put the date on all of them. It’s much easier to keep your papers organized this way and it will make sorting through them much quicker.
