Students are also taught to apply the language of mathematics to everyday scenarios through algorithms, ratios, algebra and equations and formulas in geometry and measurement.

Chalk Talk: Integrating the Arts into Learning

Students focus on core learning in academic areas from kindergarten through high school, and this focus helps prepare them for post-secondary life, but it also requires the addition of other areas of interest, such as the arts, to foster deeper connected thinking. Each subject bears on the arts - nature and artistic form compliment each other nicely and provides a way for many students to understand the processes of nature. Geometry and design lend to each other and can draw in artistically inclined students through that access point. Literature is an art form of its own, and its focus in the curriculum leads in terms of helping students see the world through the arts. In big and little ways, integrating these aesthetic principles into learning can be a major to many students.
