Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Los Banos District Curriculum

In Language Arts, students are instructed in the major areas of reading literary and non-fiction texts, the writing process, and other communication skills. In Math, students learn about numerical operations, algebraic operations, geometry, and data analysis. In Science, students learn about earth and environmental science, biology, chemistry, physics and technology. These topics are also tied to higher-order thinking skills like interpretation, analysis, reasoning and problem-solving.

Teachers use the curriculum to plan daily objectives for learning and assessments which gauge student proficiency in the content. Further, the statewide assessments students must take are aligned to these standards.
