Miami Beach District and Curriculum

The curriculum for Miami-Dade County Public Schools is intended to make students into life-long learners. This is accomplished by providing a high quality curriculum through meaningful learning experiences that engage students, teachers, parents, and members of the community. The Language Arts/Reading curriculum is based upon the Common Core State Standards. In K-5th, students learn to find key ideas within a text, use an ever-increasing vocabulary, make connections between ideas within a piece of literature, read proficiently, and communicate well through writing and speaking. In 6th-12th, students learn to use texts to support views and opinions, infer meaning from literary devices, make connections between the same information presented in different ways, appreciate different types of literature, write for different audiences and different goals, use appropriate grammar and mechanics, and research information.

We currently cover the following Miami Beach-area school districts: Miami-Dade County Public Schools.
