Students acquire the writing skills necessary to have subject-verb agreement and pronoun-antecedent agreement as well. Comparative and superlative adjectives are another topic of exploration for elementary learners.

Chalk Talk: Helping Your Kids Unplug

Although technology plays a critical role in today’s educational environment, it is still important for your child to unplug and learn the old fashioned way. There are many ways to do this. First, establish time each day to read a book with your child. Just 15 minutes of reading each day will help young children develop a stronger vocabulary and better understanding of language rules. Second, get your child involved in some hands-on activities. Whether learning how to make crafts or solving puzzles, activities that get kids up and moving improves their kinesthetic intelligence. Lastly, find time to learn with your child outdoors. A quick walk through a neighborhood park can easily turn into a fun science lesson for you both.
