Chalk Talk: Why Community College Is a Good Choice

If you have a child that will be attending college soon, encourage them not to discount the possibility of attending a community college. Community colleges are a vital part of the higher education system. They are much more able to adapt to the changing needs of the economy than are universities. As a result, they often have cutting-edge majors that lead to good paying and in-demand jobs. Many of those jobs only require an associate’s degree or a certificate, so community colleges students can enter the workforce and earn an excellent wage in just two years or less. With a hands-on approach in many areas of study, community colleges help prepare students for immediate work. Additionally, community colleges are far less expensive than their four-year counterparts. With the cost of tuition and fees at an all-time high, choosing a less expensive option can save a huge amount of money. Likewise, with many learning options available, like online courses, community colleges gives students the flexibility they need to finish their studies in a timely manner.
