Napa District and Curriculum
The curriculum in Napa covers the academic subjects and lays out the major areas of learning within each. The expectations for what students will learn are described so that teachers may plan instruction and assessments that are aligned to meet these instructional objectives.

Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Napa District Curriculum
The Language Arts curriculum covers reading of literary and informational texts, writing for a range of purposes, speaking, and listening skills. The Math curriculum lays out the areas of numerical operations, geometry and measurement, algebra, and statistics and probability that students will learn about each year. The Science curriculum provides a framework for the study of earth and life sciences, chemistry, physics, environmental science, and technology subjects.
As students enter into specialized or magnet programs, the regular curriculum will also be taught in conjunction with the subject matter that is the focus of the program. The design of these curriculum allow for students to go deeper into each subject each year. In doing so, their critical, analytic, problem-solving and reasoning skills are developed.
