Chalk Talk: Increasing Value of Community College

If your child is unsure of where he or she would like to study after high school, attending a community college might be an excellent choice. Community colleges offer more majors today than ever before. And since community colleges tend to be on the leading edge of educational innovation, many of the most high-demand career areas can be studied at a community college. A number of these career areas, including technology, healthcare, and energy exploration, only require a two-year degree or certificate in order to be immediately employable. In addition to pathways to in-demand careers, community colleges offer an education at a fraction of the price of a university. With many alternative learning opportunities available, such as distance education and online courses, community college studies can be an excellent means for your child to reach their educational and career goals.
