Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Oneonta District Curriculum

In English and Language Arts coursework focuses on developing an understanding of the importance of being literate and in being able to apply their reading, speaking and writing skills in other coursework. Students are expected to be able to demonstrate their fluency and reading comprehension through the writing of essays, creative writing, reports, and oral presentations.

In Math, students focus on developing an in-depth understanding of limited number of math skills including computation, algebra, geometry, statistics, and probability. By the time students complete high school they are expected to be mathematically literate and able to apply their math skills in higher education and in the work force.
