Palatine District and Curriculum

The Community Consolidated School District #15 is the home to students in Palatine. District #15 is dedicated to educating students so they become responsible contributors to society. The teachers, administrators, and parents are tasked with teaching the students to strive to be successful and responsible community members. High school students in Palatine attend the Township High School Consolidated District #211. This district serves 25,000 high school students in five high schools and two alternative high schools. The goal of District #211 is to teach students to reach their potential to be able to learn from the community around them.

We currently cover the following Palatine-area school districts: Community Consolidated School District #15 and Township High School Consolidated District #211.

Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Palatine District Curriculum

In District #211, curriculum is created to help their students reach their fullest potential. The latest initiative is to help students develop the skills that will be needed for the 21st Century. The district initiative is to accelerate every student’s curriculum with the goal of each student being fully prepared for college or work. The district has worked to increase rigor, provide more academic support, and to develop students who can read and write at a developmentally appropriate level.

District #15 is proud to use the Response to Intervention program to guarantee that students will become proficient in the skills that are needed in today’s world and in the future. Teachers provide a series of supports at a variety of different levels that they can use when they recognize that students are struggling. The series of supports are used to ensure that students are working at the appropriate grade-level skills.

Keeping Informed: Recent Palatine Educational News

  • Traits Writing Program - In an initiative to improve writing, District #15 is striving to address the Content Core Curriculum State Standards with the Traits Writing program. This program helps teachers prepare students to be good communicators by teaching specific traits like ideas, conventions, organizations, and more.
  • Literacy Focus - In an initiative to improve literacy from the growing Latino population in Palatine, District #15 is working to increase the number of books that appeal to Latino learners. The district is working closely with families to meet the needs of not only the students, but their parents, too.
  • Legoes and Learning - The FIRST LEGO teams in District #15 will continue to develop science, technology, engineering, and math skills with a $12,000 grant from Motorola. Ten of the elementary schools in District #15 have Lego teams that give students the opportunity to use hands-on skills to create interesting projects like robots.
