Subjects such as Environmental Science and Technology courses are also offered and are guided by curriculum that emphasize the learning outcomes. However, it is the specific skills within each subject that accomplishes this goal by developing a base of learning strategies for each student.

- Special Programs at Pinole High School - There are a handful of special programs offered at Pinole High School; one program is an Environmental Academy which is a 3 year, project-based program that teaches all core material while also conducting projects on environmental issues.
- Electives at Pinole High School - There are a number of electives offered to students at the high school. One option for students interested in pursuing careers in teaching is to serve as a teacher's aide. There are also a range of other work experience options for students.
- Media Arts - One program that has been developed at Pinole High School is a media arts program; this offers classes in topics such as journalism, digital design and website deisgn.
