Students in the civics strand learn the values and principles that are critical to the development and maintenance of a democratic society. In the economics strand, learners explore fundamental concepts of micro and macroeconomics, as well as personal finance.

The arts curriculum in Rosemount sets high expectations for achievement in the areas of visual and performing arts. The curriculum focuses student learning on four areas: artistic foundations, artistic processes to create or make art, processes to perform or present art, and processes to respond to and critique art. Students can meet their art requirements via a number of class offerings, including dance, theater, media arts, music, and visual arts. Chalk Talk: Three Great Reasons to Involve Your Child in Extracurricular Activities

Some parents don’t have to do much urging to get their kids involved in after-school activities. But if you have a child that shies away from sports, clubs, or other extracurricular activities, consider appealing to your child’s practical side. First, taking part in activities outside of academics is an important component of any college or job application. Reviewers will hold an applicant that has demonstrated a wide variety of interests and skills in much higher regard than one who does not. Second, involvement in activities is great for a child’s social life. The bonds they make with peers can last them a lifetime. Lastly, activities are a great stress buster and an excellent way to improve self-esteem. If your child is anxious or worried about school, getting them involved in a sport or a club could make a significant difference in their mood.
