Chalk Talk: Why Technology Is So Important

Integrating technology into the learning day has many benefits for students. First, students acquire the technology-related skills they must have in order to be successful in the 21st Century workplace. Students hone their typing skills, online research skills as well as time-management skills. Second, technology allows for an expansion of the learning space. Students who utilize technology can access virtually unlimited learning materials that can help supplement their education. While students only have access to their teacher for less than an hour a day, they have access to online materials 24/7. Finally, technology allows students to set their own pace. We all know that kids learn at different rates and technology gives students the ability to break step with the rest of the class and work at a pace that is best for them.
