Truckee District and Curriculum
The curriculum used in Truckee is a standards-based curriculum in which the standards span the fundamentals of learning for each subject on a grade-by-grade basis. The standards specify what it is that students will learn in their courses and these skills build upon each other as students move forward in their education.

Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Truckee District Curriculum
The Math curriculum lays out the progression of skills students will develop in numeracy, algebra, geometry and data analysis each school year. In the Sciences, students take courses in earth science, biology, chemistry, physics, environmental science and technology and the curriculum specifies the scientific skills and principles that students will learn. In Language Arts, students acquire necessary communication skills in reading and writing for a range of purposes, and how to speak and listen while thinking attentively and critically.
As students pursue advanced academic topics or specialized courses, the curriculum explains the goals for student achievement, enhanced instructional strategies that teachers may use, and how additional content will be integrated into other core subjects.

Keeping Informed: Recent Truckee Educational News
- Envirolution - Students in Truckee High School have started an innovative club to raise awareness about environmental issues by bringing a focus on ways in which things may be re-used. One highlight, is their annual "Trashion" show, surely something not to miss!
- Technology at THS - The technology departmet at Truckee High School offers the students the opportunity to familiarize themselves with current and emerging technologies. The staff available to answer students questions and connect them to new skills is a major benefit to the student body.
- College and Career Planning - The guidance department offers a number of resources to students and parents during the high school years.
