Language and literacy skills are essential. I am a huge proponent of the fundamentals. I pride myself in my approach to writing and consider teaching the writing process my strength. I focus on growth and believe in meeting students where their skills are strong. Above all – I focus on the positive!

I possess a Master’s Degree in Cross-cultural Education and a Bachelor’s Degree in English. In addition, I hold a Clear Teaching Credential in the state of California. English is my life!

I have been a certificated teacher in California since 2008. Prior to that, I was a paraeducator for 14 years. I currently teach advanced English and ELD classes at a Central California high school.

I volunteer at a wildlife rescue organization rehabilitating injured birds. I also coach a track and field team for Special Olympics. And, of course, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, and reading.
