I believe that all students can be successful if the teacher incorporates the principles of differentiated instruction and inclusion. The teacher must be knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and empathetic, and must set very high academic standards.
I have three degrees, including a Masters. I believe in life-long learning and always strive to better myself.I am a graduate of Memorial University of Newfoundland,Univeristy of Saskatchewan, and University of Prince Edward Island.
I have taught English since 1986, in the intermediate and high school settings in 4 Canadian provinces. I am currently English Department Head at a large Canadian secondary school.
I facilitate the Drama Club, Creative Writing Club, Public Speaking, and Safe Grad activities. I also mentor students who write a newspaper column for our local newspaper. I enjoy working with my students in this manner.
