It is used at the end of a sentence. A space is left between the period and the first letter of the next sentence. But, there is no space between the last letter and the period.<\/p>\n<p>It is a lovely day today. Let\u2019s go out and play.<\/p>\n<p>Some more uses of period:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;   At the end of a command<\/p>\n<p>Example: Submit your assignments on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;   At the end of indirect question<\/p>\n<p>Example: Father asked why he came home so late.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;  With abbreviations<\/p>\n<p>Example: a.m, p.m, M.P.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;  To show a word has been made shorter<\/p>\n<p>Example: Co., etc<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;   After titles<\/p>\n<p>Example: Mr., Mrs, Dr.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ellipsis<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong>The ellipsis (\u2026) is used to indicate an unfinished sentence, a pause or omitted words.
