Simple present tense is used for the following purposes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>to express habitual action e.g. Harry goes to church every Sunday.<\/li>\n<li>to express general truths e.g. Sun rises in East<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0to express strong feelings e.g. What a lovely day!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Verbs do not change their form in simple present tense.<\/p>\n<p>First form of verb used with I, You and plural subjects and first form of verb with s\/es is used with singular subjects.<\/p>\n<p>Does is used with singular subjects without s\/es with the first form of verb while do is used with I, You and plural subjects.<\/p>\n<p>Sentences in the simple present tense are written using the rules:<\/p>\n<p>Positive Form: Subject + Verb first form + Object<\/p>\n<p>Examples:<\/p>\n<p>He likes baseball.<\/p>\n<p>I watch movie every week.<\/p>\n<p>Ben swims very well.<\/p>\n<p>Negative Form: Subject + do not\/does not + Verb first form + Object<\/p>\n<p>Examples:<\/p>\n<p>He does not like baseball.<\/p>\n<p>I do not watch movie every week.<\/p>\n<p>Ben does not swim well.<\/p>\n<p>Interrogative Form: Do\/Does + Subject + Verb first form + Object + ?<\/p>\n<p>Examples:<\/p>\n<p>Does he like baseball?<\/p>\n<p>Do I watch movie every week?<\/p>\n<p>Does Ben swim well?<\/p>\n<p>SchoolTutoring Academy is the premier educational services company for K-12 and college students.
