Slope \u2013 intercept form:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The slope intercept form of a line is y=mx+b,<br \/>\nWhere, m = slope of the line and<br \/>\nb = y-intercept of the line.<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Example:<\/strong><br \/>\nConvert the equation of line x + y \u2013 6 =0 into slope \u2013 intercept form.<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Solution:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Given equation is x + y \u2013 6 = 0<br \/>\nSubtracting x,<br \/>\ny &#8211; 6 = -x<br \/>\nAdding 6,<br \/>\ny = -x + 6 = (-1)x + 6 = mx + b,<br \/>\nwhere m = -1 and b = 6<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\"><strong>2. Point &#8211; slope form:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The point slope of a line is y-y1 = m(x-x1),<br \/>\nWhere (x1,y1) is a point on the line and<br \/>\nm = slope of the line<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Example:<\/strong><br \/>\nFind the equation of line containing the point (-1,2) whose slope is -1.<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Solution:<\/strong><br \/>\nHere (x1,y1) = (-1,2) and m = -1.<br \/>\nThe equation of line is,<br \/>\ny-y1 = m(x-x1)<br \/>\ny \u2013 2 = -1(x+1)<br \/>\ny-2 = -x -1<br \/>\nx + y -1 = 0.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">\n<strong>3.
