Thus, locus is usually a curve. In particular, a locus can be a circle, a line, a parabola, a hyperbola, etc.<\/p>\n<p>The locus of points which are at a constant distance <strong><em>r<\/em><\/strong> from a fixed point <strong><em>O<\/em><\/strong> is a circle. Here r is called the radius of circle and O is called the center of the circle.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/SchoolTutoring.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2012\/11\/locus1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5032\" title=\"locus1\" src=\"https:\/\/SchoolTutoring.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2012\/11\/locus1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"140\" height=\"141\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The locus of points where the perpendicular distance from each point to a fixed line is <strong><em>d<\/em><\/strong> is the set of parallel lines to the given line.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/SchoolTutoring.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2012\/11\/locus2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5033\" title=\"locus2\" src=\"https:\/\/SchoolTutoring.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2012\/11\/locus2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"271\" height=\"130\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Let <strong><em>P<\/em><\/strong> and <strong><em>Q<\/em><\/strong> be two points. Then the locus of points which are at equidistant from both the points <strong><em>P<\/em><\/strong> and <strong><em>Q<\/em><\/strong> is nothing but the perpendicular bisector of the line segment <strong><em>PQ<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/SchoolTutoring.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2012\/11\/locus3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5034\" title=\"locus3\" src=\"https:\/\/SchoolTutoring.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2012\/11\/locus3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"170\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Suppose two intersecting lines are given.
