Chalk Talk: Social and Emotional Learning
To be truly successful in learning and life, children need to learn from every area, including from their social and emotional life. This area of education include helping the child to be aware of themselves and others. It makes them recognize their goals, how to achieve it, and how positive accomplishments give them motivation to go on to the next challenge. Parents can assist by talking with the children about feelings and how different actions make them feel. In addition, children need to learn how to manage their moods including impulses, plus they need to have a sense of self-motivation. Parents can help children grow in these areas through modeling the behavior they would like to see in their children.
