Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Canton Corner Township District Curriculum
Plymouth-Canton Community Schools consult a variety of state and national resources to design their curriculum. Based on the Michigan Curricular Framework, the Language Arts curriculum uses Six Traits of Writing instruction to challenge students to become better writers at all grade levels. PCCS also offers several electives in this content area including courses in public speaking and publishing.
Drawing from the Vision Statement outlined by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, Plymouth-Canton Community Schools offer students engaging mathematics based on real-world applications. Using mathematical investigations, students delve deeply and think critically about the ‘big ideas’ in mathematics. At the high school level, students take traditional classes like algebra and calculus but more advanced coursework in classes like computer programming are also offered.
