Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Cresskill District Curriculum
In an effort to recognize students of all gifts, abilities, interests, and ambitions, Cresskill employs the Schoolwide Enrichment Program, which provides differentiated learning experiences in all four Cresskill schools. Teachers are trained in the most up-to-date differentiation strategies, in addition to creative, problem-solving techniques that are necessary to guiding students to excel in a variety of specialized interests.
In September 2013, the Academies at Cresskill was created to provide all ninth graders an opportunity to explore educational opportunities beyond the traditional high school experience. Linked to modern careers and rigorous areas of study, the program was developed for career-driven students who display a high level of motivation, character, and potential for success. Opportunities provided in the academy include but are not limited to: a freshman cohort experience, college credit, accesses to resources outside the school, partnerships with institutes of higher education and other organizations, masters classes, workshops, and independent studies.

SchoolTutoring Academy has played an important role in improving our son’s confidence and attitude towards school. His grades have also improved steadily throughout the school year.
My daughter was very self-conscious about her difficulties with the math section of the SAT. SchoolTutoring Academy’s Academic Directors created an action plan that boosted my daughter’s score and confidence level.
SchoolTutoring Academy has not only improved my son’s standardized test scores but also his high school math and English grades. Test Prep Academy has not only improved my son’s standardized test scores but also his high school math and English grades.
SchoolTutoring Academy Increased My SAT Score By 200 Points
My son’s math marks in high school have always been weak so I found it very beneficial that his ACT tutor worked on solidifying his fundamentals while prepping for the ACT.
SchoolTutoring Academy gave my daughter the confidence she needed to boost her SAT score Thank you!
SchoolTutoring has played an important role in improving our son’s confidence and attitude towards school. His grades have also improved steadily throughout the school year.
My daughter was able to improve her test scores after a few months of tutoring with SchoolTutoring. However, while raising test scores is great, the real payoff is in the self-confidence that she gained.
I just wanted to send a quick note to say thank-you! My son is very impressed with his tutor and looks forward to each session. What’s particularly amazing about this is our son has never really looked forward to math or school for that matter!
We are so happy with the results of your tutoring program and academic support. Homework time was such a stressful evening for the entire evening before we brought your tutors into our home. Thank you for all your help!
Our daughter, a first grader, struggled with basic reading and handwriting. When she began with SchoolTutoring she was almost a year behind her class. Within a year of being enrolled, she is reading above her grade level and has the confidence to match.

Chalk Talk: Tips for Setting Boundaries
Most parents understand they have the intellectual upper hand over their child, but most children believe the opposite is true. A lot of it is caused by the words we say. “Don’t do that!” “That’s dangerous.” “I don’t allow that in this house!” To a parent, these words and phrases create necessary rules and boundaries. To a child, they betray a sense of worry and fear in the parent and, believe it or not, a lack of control. To gain that control and power back from your child, turn the situation around by giving advice, not demands. “I wouldn’t do that if I were you.” “I would be nervous to eat so much sugar before I had a test.” “If it were me, I would be careful how I talk to people who are bigger than me.” Maintaining a sense of guidance and removing any trace of emotion of control will raise your authority level in your child’s mind. Also, keeping an upbeat, melodic tone of voice will convince your child they are in control.
