Chalk Talk: Preparing for Back-To-School

When getting children for the next year is school, parents need to check to make sure that everything is actually prepared. First, parents should check to see if there are any vaccinations or check-ups that are needed. Depending on a child's activities, schools may require a doctor's visit before the beginning of school. This information can be obtained from the school or the physician. If a child is going to attend a new school, check with the school office to see the child can have a tour of the school, so on the first day, they will be comfortable in navigating the hallways. Another way to help the child with the new year is to meet the teacher and find out what the expectation may be and if there is a way to volunteer in the classroom or the school. With these steps covered, parents will have taken the first steps to provide a successful year for the child.
