Chalk Talk: Technology Expands Learning Space
Students today have a greater opportunity to tap into knowledge than ever before. Many school districts recognize that technology is the key to expand learning space for students, and have implemented initiatives to add more technology to classrooms. Other districts have gone a step further and provided tablets or laptops to their students. These efforts to integrate technology allow children to access a wealth of information on the Internet. Students can conduct research at school or at home. They can interact with other students across the state, nation, and the world. Learners can access online encyclopedias, literature reviews, historical documents, videos and images, and a host of other materials that facilitate a deeper understanding of the topics they study at school. By giving students the ability to expand their learning time beyond the school day, school districts foster a greater depth of knowledge and understanding of the topics under study.
