The curriculum in North Olmsted is aligned with the Core Standards of Ohio. Computer and Science labs offer students opportunities for experiential learning. A vital part of the curriculum includes supportive teachers who nurture their students’ learning and help them develop a passion for applying their studies.
The English Language Arts curriculum of Olmsted aims to increase students’ proficiency in reading comprehension by using a balanced literacy approach and focusing on strategies for comprehension. The Math curriculum challenges students to solve problems using geometry, measurement, algebra while enforcing flexibility and patterns of logic in their thinking and ways of relating to the world. As students enter high school, courses such as public speaking and debate enable students to practice their argumentative and critical thinking skills and reasoning on topics that pose moral controversy in our world today.
