Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Oliver Paipoonge District Curriculum
In English, students develop the literacy and communication skills that are intended to support cross-curricular learning, and prepare students for higher education and career pursuits. Both reading and writing are emphasized and used to inform each other. Students are able to read literature and non-fiction and produce their own written work that responds to or analyzes of the text. The development of writing and a process by which students can generate ideas, produce, revise and edit their own texts is central.
The framework that has been established for Math starts with fundamentals in numerical operations, measurement and basic geometry, and mathematic literacy with quantitative information presented in graphs and charts. Students begin to learn about proportionality, operations and functions, and relationships which prepare them for high school level Algebra, Geometry, Statistics and other advanced math. The thinking and problem-solving strategies gained over the course of students' math education include logical and spatial reasoning.

My son’s math marks in high school have always been weak so I found it very beneficial that his ACT tutor worked on solidifying his fundamentals while prepping for the ACT.
SchoolTutoring Academy gave my daughter the confidence she needed to boost her SAT score Thank you!
SchoolTutoring has played an important role in improving our son’s confidence and attitude towards school. His grades have also improved steadily throughout the school year.
My daughter was able to improve her test scores after a few months of tutoring with SchoolTutoring. However, while raising test scores is great, the real payoff is in the self-confidence that she gained.
I just wanted to send a quick note to say thank-you! My son is very impressed with his tutor and looks forward to each session. What’s particularly amazing about this is our son has never really looked forward to math or school for that matter!
We are so happy with the results of your tutoring program and academic support. Homework time was such a stressful evening for the entire evening before we brought your tutors into our home. Thank you for all your help!
Our daughter, a first grader, struggled with basic reading and handwriting. When she began with SchoolTutoring she was almost a year behind her class. Within a year of being enrolled, she is reading above her grade level and has the confidence to match.

Chalk Talk: Letters of Recommendation
A teacher recommendation is usually a page long or shorter, written by a teacher who’s taught a student in a classroom junior or senior year. When a college requires a recommendation, this is who they want to hear from. Some colleges will accept additional recommendations. These are recommendations that shed some new light on a student. They should only be included if they have something new and different to say about a student that hasn’t been covered elsewhere. Getting the principal or head of a school, or even a celebrity, to write a recommendation might seem like a good idea, but what is that person actually going to say about you as a student? If the recommender actually has some necessary insight—a boss, for example, or a trainer or coach for a student athlete who will continue to play in college—then the recommendation can be very useful.
