Ripon Area School District is comprised of ten educational programs and buildings, each of which provides a stimulating and caring environment in which students can learn. Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Ripon District Curriculum
In elementary school, students learn how to properly take scientific samples, analyze them, and interpret them. Learners engage in sampling procedures in a variety of environments, including in the field and in a laboratory setting. Environmental law is introduced as well, with students developing an understanding of the rules and regulations that protect Wisconsin’s natural resources. Weather systems are another topic of study. Students identify common weather patterns and learn about atmospheric measurements, such as barometric pressure, that indicate a coming change in the weather.
The high school nutrition curriculum in Ripon helps students identify eating habits that promote health from birth to old age. Students explore the nutritional needs of people at varying stages of life. Common health problems that result from poor nutrition, such as obesity, are investigated as well. Students learn about proper portioning, as well as the kinds of foods people should eat in order to facilitate proper nutrition. Identification of foods that are unhealthy is undertaken as well. Recommended daily intakes of carbs, fats, and calories are discussed, with students determining the ideal diet for their age and body type.

- Ripon Education Foundation Supports Student Scholarships - The Ripon Education Foundation seeks to support educational programming in Ripon’s schools through various fundraising activities. Funding goes towards training and teacher materials, students scholarships, and other programs that cannot be funded by the regular school budget.
- New School Building Offers 21st Century Learning Facilities - Ripon Area School District recently broke ground on its new middle school-high school building which will be well-appointed with the latest technology. The facility is scheduled to open for high schoolers in spring of 2016 with middle school students moving in that fall.

Although it’s a controversial topic, there seem to be a number of benefits to making public school a year-round venture. Supporters of year-round school argue that students don’t experience the dreaded brain drain that occurs during the summer months. Rather than spending several weeks each fall getting kids back up to speed, teachers also have more time to concentrate on deeper and more meaningful learning experiences for students. This, in turn, means that students are able to retain more information and perform better on academic measures. There is also evidence that year-round schooling helps teachers and students alike experience less burnout. With 2-3 week vacations sprinkled throughout the year, there is still plenty of time off and it comes more frequently.
