Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Roseville District Curriculum

The curriculum for Math and Language Arts details a wide range of skills and knowledge which students should have in order to be adept communicators and problem solvers. In Math, learning the different facets of numerical operations, algebra, geometry, statistics and other topics help students have the necessary understanding to recognize the ways to solve different problems. In Language Arts, the emphasis on reading and writing for multiple purposes gives students the ability to be literate and able to communicate their understanding or analysis in any subject matter.

The progressive school district offers students courses in technology and even has programs in place so that high school students can earn college credits while still in high school. The curriculum is diverse and offers plenty of opportunity for personal growth through both core subjects and the electives that are offered.

Chalk Talk: ABC's and 123's

The world is changing pretty quickly. The education standards are working hard to keep up with the ever changing world of technology. Schools now are faced with the challenges of not only focusing on the traditional core curriculum but of also integrating the newest technology into the lesson plans. Technology is one of the fastest growing areas and keeping up can be a real challenge for parents as well. Having the latest technological advantages for your students can be difficult because the cost can be prohibitive. See if your school has a technology rental program to save some money! If they don't have one talk to the school board about starting one. Many districts across the US offer iPads and other equipment for rent for a very low price. It is the perfect way to keep up with the changes in technology without having to break the bank every school year.
