Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Waldwick District Curriculum
The Waldwick Public School District has devised a well-rounded curriculum that motivates students to learn, piques their academic curiosities and produces students who have a lifelong love of learning. By providing both academic and practical learning experiences, students acquire a good foundation of knowledge and skills that will lead them to future success. The district curriculum is aligned with the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards as well as the Common Core Standards, ensuring that students receive instruction that is both research and standards-based.
The comprehensive social studies curriculum includes an examination of the Renaissance, Reformation, Scientific Revolution and Enlightenment periods. Students identify the primary ideas of the Enlightenment, such as rationalism and natural rights, and explain how those ideas influenced changing political ideologies in Europe. Students examine the factors that led up to the Renaissance and identify the reasons why Italy was the center of Renaissance art. The role of technology is examined, with regard to the printing press and the dissemination of Reformation-era ideas.

My daughter was able to improve her test scores after a few months of tutoring with SchoolTutoring. However, while raising test scores is great, the real payoff is in the self-confidence that she gained.
I just wanted to send a quick note to say thank-you! My son is very impressed with his tutor and looks forward to each session. What’s particularly amazing about this is our son has never really looked forward to math or school for that matter!
We are so happy with the results of your tutoring program and academic support. Homework time was such a stressful evening for the entire evening before we brought your tutors into our home. Thank you for all your help!

Chalk Talk: The Benefits of Community College
Not all students are ready to make the leap from high school to a four-year institution. For those students, community college is a great way to get their feet wet in the collegiate experience without having to make all of the major adjustments of attending a large university. In addition to being far less expensive than four-year schools, community colleges are often much smaller, with a smaller overall student population as well as smaller classes. As such, students who need time to acclimate to college level work can get more individualized attention from their professors. Community colleges also offer remedial courses for students who need to brush up on specific skills, especially those in English and math-related courses. By attending a community college, students can acquire the college level skills they need in order to be successful at a four-year institution.
