Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Warwick District Curriculum

The curriculum centers on core academic areas, focusing in on their major topics. In Language Arts, students are expected to learn reading comprehension, writing, listening and speaking strategies that they can use in all subjects. Math and Science are taught to be process and problem-solving competencies for students, developing advanced ability over the years. The skills expected are detailed as grade-level expectations and measured on statewide assessments.

The schools are committed to the development of technological skills for their students. As a result, the Technology Education Curriculum is aligned with the ISTE National Educational Technology Standards. In addition, the district is intent on helping raise healthy children who become healthy adults. The Health Curriculum for elementary students focuses on personal hygiene in the primary grades and builds to conflict resolution skills by fourth grade.
