Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Zanesville District Curriculum
Students are expected to be able to demonstrate flexibility in the Language arts to express themselves creatively using different modes and resources. Math curricula focusing on algebra, money problems, measurement and geometry enable students to gain confidence in abstract and concrete problem solving while understanding how they can apply problem solving and critical thinking skills.
High School curricula focus on a well balanced liberal arts education including vocational preparatory programs for college in business, life skills, technology, agriculture and much more. Advanced Placement courses are offered in Chemistry, English, Calculus, Physics and History. Students are encouraged to balance academics with extracurricular activities in order to develop their athletic prowess, tap into creative pursuits and develop important team leadership skills to meet the demands of 21st century work and learning expectations.

My daughter was able to improve her test scores after a few months of tutoring with SchoolTutoring. However, while raising test scores is great, the real payoff is in the self-confidence that she gained.
I just wanted to send a quick note to say thank-you! My son is very impressed with his tutor and looks forward to each session. What’s particularly amazing about this is our son has never really looked forward to math or school for that matter!
We are so happy with the results of your tutoring program and academic support. Homework time was such a stressful evening for the entire evening before we brought your tutors into our home. Thank you for all your help!
Our daughter, a first grader, struggled with basic reading and handwriting. When she began with SchoolTutoring she was almost a year behind her class. Within a year of being enrolled, she is reading above her grade level and has the confidence to match.

Chalk Talk: Educational Programs
Students need to be encouraged by parents and teachers to engage in extracurricular activity that offers health benefits and balance with homework. However, watching television is a natural part of children's lives. However, parents need to guide their children to watching educational programs in French, in the arts and spirituality and channels that cater to nurturing the intellectual side. It is important that parents screen their children's choices to ensure that they are not watching a heavy amount of content with violence as studies have shown that it promotes aggressive behavior, anti-social tendencies and influences children to use aggressive and violent strategies in dealing with conflict. Conflict and fantasy are natural parts of a child's television regime but they can affect how a child sees and relates to the world and others around him or her and even how others get treated. The more that educational programs are sponsored on television, the more we can expect that students will develop a passion for learning and growth.
