It is my desire as a educator to help students meet their fullest potential in these areas by providing an environment that is safe, supports risk-taking, and invites a sharing of ideas.I see my role as a guide, providing access to information rather than acting as the primary source of information, the students’ search for knowledge is met as they learn to find answers to their questions. For students to construct knowledge, they need the opportunity to discover for themselves and enjoy the benefits and pride and success that hard work brings.
I studied English Literature and Critical Thinking at California State University. I was involved with the literary magazine called the Literacy Fox and have published poems and stories in the publication.
While working at the Boys & Girls Club I create lesson plans for a Art and Education program. I implemented an extensive program for the school year and a more expressive program during the summer.
I like to spend free time with my husband and family. I also volunteer with the youth through the Community ACTION program that connects churches with needs in the community.
