As a future teacher, I believe it is important to emphasize the following things in the curriculum, providing students with common basic body of knowledge that will help them through out their life and values to be a responsible citizen. I would ensure that students understand how to apply their knowledge to real life scenarios, and use real life scenarios to help aid students in their learning. I believe in using indirect methods of teaching and being an active part of the students’ learning.

I have completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and am now in the process of completing my Bachelor’s Degree in Education to become an Ontario Certified Educator. I will be a qualified primary/junior teacher, and therefore am most comfortable tutoring that age group (Kindergarten to grade six).

As a student in the concurrent education program, I have had placements all 5 years of University, therefore I have practice taught in many classrooms with an associate teacher. I also have volunteered in classrooms as well I am currently tutoring once a week with Frontier College.

Growing up I was involved in various sports and therefore have a good background in any athletic extracurricular activities. I also have an interest in both film and visual arts.
