Effective MAAP Test Prep
for Mississippi Students

Understanding
the MAAP
Mississippi state testing begins in 3rd grade as part of the Mississippi Academic Assessment Program (MAAP). From 3rd-8th grade, students complete tests annually in ELA and Mathematics. Additionally, 5th and 8th grade students take tests which focus on Science. Once in high school, students must complete assessments at the conclusion of Algebra I, Biology I, English II, and US History. Additionally, 11th grade students also take the ACT.
