Get Your Child Ready for the MCAS

SchoolTutoring Academy’s MCAS Tutoring Programs start with an ACADEMIC ASSESSMENT with an Academic Director. This assessment informs your child’s MCAS tutor about their abilities, strengths, and weaknesses so the tutoring program can be tailored to their specific needs. Our MCAS Tutoring Program includes regular one-on-one tutoring, academic mentorship, bi-monthly progress reports, learning profiles, and parental conference calls.

the MCAS

Massachusetts state testing begins in 3rd grade as part of the Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System. From 3rd-8th grade, students complete tests annually in ELA and Mathematics. Additionally, 5th and 8th grade students take tests which focus on Science. Once in high school, students must complete an ELA and Mathematics test in 10th grade, in addition to a STE (Science and Technology/Engineering) test in biology, chemistry, physics, or technology/engineering. The successful completion of these tests with a sufficient score is a graduation requirement. For more information on the MCAS you can visit the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education website.
