My educational philosophy centers on the student and their needs within the classroom. I prefer the student centered approach as it focuses more on the student and their learning style than the content of the lesson. Also it allows students to relate to their own life experiences and therefore make a personal connection with the new information.
I received my Bachelor of Education and my Combined Honours in Contemporary Studies and History from Wilfred Laurier University in 2013. I am qualified to teach Junior/Intermediate grades and have a teachable in History. I have taken English as a Second Language Part 1 and will continue to educate myself for the benefit of my future students.
I have tutored in multiple grades and subjects. I completed 5 placements in university with grades 4 to 8. I have also taught many subjects for those grades and feel comfortable with the curriculum.
I am an avid reader who enjoys helping others find the same passion. I like to find activities to do outside, whether that is recreational sports, or walking with a friend.
