My educational philosophy is that all students can learn and achieve if given the right tools. Students can reach their highest potential if learning is engaging and geared towards their unique learning styles. With this in mind, the educator should use a variety of instructional strategies to meet the needs of all students. Students personal interests should be considered when there are opportunities.
For my undergraduate degree, I attended Cleveland State University and majored in Early Childhood Education. After working for one year as a classroom teacher, I returned to the same university and completed my Master’s Degree in Curriculum & Instruction with a focus in Educational Technology. I have also taken coursework to obtain an endorsement in gifted & talented education. I am a life-long learner and always am looking for opportunities to further develop myself professionally.
I have been teaching for a total of sixteen years. Fourteen of those years has been as a certified teacher in grades K-4. While obtaining my Bachelor’s Degree in Education, I began teaching preschool within a daycare environment. I have held the leadership positions of subject area specialist and grade level chairperson while being a classroom teacher.
During the holiday seasons, I have volunteered to feed the homeless within my local community. During my spare time, I like to read suspense books. I also enjoy learning new technology. When time is available I enjoy having fun by bowling, attending local events, and going to the movies.
